Honorary Professor of Preventative Medicine and Public Health at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Doctor honoris causa from the “San Luis Gonzaga de Ica” National University (Perus), he’s a full member of the Royal Academies of Medicine and Surgery and Pharmacy of Galicia, and also of the National Academies of Medicine of Buenos Aires and of Paraguay. He’s also coordinated the programme of doctoral studies in Public Health at the USC since it commenced in the 1980s, and the successive adaptations up to the current “Programme in Epidemiology and Public Health.” He’s an authority in the field and has been one of the greatest experts in the current healthcare crisis of COVID-19.
