Great start of Fairway, II Forum of the Way of St. James
The first day of Fairway was marked by activities for all audiences and the opening ceremony, on Monday begin the meetings in the workshop and the round tables
The English Way, the Portuguese Way and The Way with Correos will be the subject of institutional presentations to the press
Santiago de Compostela, November 12, 2017. –Fairway, Forum of the Way of St. James, was inaugurated this Sunday at the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions of Galicia with a day characterized by the influx of authorities, family public, pilgrims and interested in general .
The inaugural act was given by the co-directors of Fairway, Ana Trevisani and Tono Mugico, and counted on the interventions of Valentín González Formoso, president of the Deputation of A Coruña; Ángel Perez, director of the Post Office area; and Martiño Noriega, mayor of Santiago
All stressed the importance of an appointment as a cross-cutting meeting point for the lovers and professionals of the Way, and the gratitude to all those who make it possible. As in the Way people from different origins, visions and objectives meet, the different actors come together and collaborate to carry out the Way of St. James Forum.
The institutional visit allowed us to discover some of the more than 60 exhibitors present, grouping more than 100 different brands.
In addition, during the day, many people came to enjoy the program of activities for all audiences and the winners of the photo contest "The values of the Way", organized by Correos and iPeregrinos.
Monday intense, exploring all the roads of the Camino
The days of Monday and Tuesday in Fairway, Forum of the Way of St. James, are prepared for a more professional profile. The more than 1,600 meetings scheduled in workshop format with international tour operators and the discussion tables for professionals will begin.
At the Fairway congress, at 10.00 am the “Way of St. James: 30 years of the first cultural itinerary” will take place. José María Ballester Fernández, ex-director of Culture, Cultural and Natural Heritage of the Council of Europe, will participate in it; María del Carmen Martínez Insua, general director of the Cultural Heritage of the Xunta de Galicia; and Segundo L. Pérez López, dean of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
At 12.00, he will take over with the symposium “Coordinated public management of the Way. Is it possible?” In which will participate Marta Lois, councilor for Equality Economic Development and Tourism of Santiago de Compostela; Xosé Regueira, Deputy of Tourism of the Deputation of A Coruña; and Joaquín Palacín, general director of Territorial Planning of the Government of Aragón.
The afternoon will begin with the presentation by Alessandro Scafi "On the way to heaven" at 4:00 p.m. Scafi is a Doctor in Medieval and Renaissance History at The Warburg Institute, University of London.
And it will continue with the presentation at 17.00 hours of 'Camino de Santiago and Kumano Kodo' by Bradley Towle, Promotion Manager of Kumano Tourism Bureau 'and Flavia Ramil, manager of Incolsa, Tourism of Santiago.
Subsequently, at 17.15, the turn of the conference about the Fuorivia Egnatia, by Giulia Motta and Andrea Radouan Mounecif, president and vice president, respectively, of FuoriVia.
To finish at 18.15 the presentation of Spacio Vita will take place: 'Camina-T. Human development on the Way' by the hand of Nekane Soto Guerrero, expert in team coaching and leadership.
Discussion tables in Fairway
In the afternoon, professional and institutional representatives will meet at two discussion tables, which will focus on the capacity and capacity of reception on the French Way from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm and Planning, coordination and digitization: Camino Inglés from 18.00 a.m. 19.30 hours.

Fairway, Forum of the Camino de Santiago, was born from the private initiative. It is promoted by the wholesale-retailer Viajes Viloria; the marketing agency Mr Turismo; and Trevisani, a company that organizes events, protocol and public relations, and communication.
It has the main sponsorship of Correos, the institutional collaboration of the Deputation of A Coruña and the support of Paradores, Cathedral of Santiago, Cluster of Tourism of Galicia and of different sponsoring entities and collaborators.
