    Round Table 1- Work load and Reception Capacity along the French Way

    The Way of St. James is celebrating its 30th anniversary as a Cultural Itinerary, consolidated as one of the driving forces behind development in the countryside, especially in Galicia, where almost 44% of the municipalities form part of the routes making up the Way.

    Round Table 2 - Planning, Coordination and Digitalization: English Way

    According to the Master Plan of the Way of St. James in Galicia 2015-2021, 2017 is the year of the English Way. Thanks to the promotion of this route in recent years, it is the one that experienced the greatest growth from 2006 to 2016, with the number of pilgrims recorded by the Pilgrim Office increasing twelvefold.

    Round Table 3 - Investing in the Way: Portuguese Way

    The opportunities generated by the Way, in terms of socioeconomic promotion, lead to an increase in related entrepreneurship and investment. According to the Pilgrim Office, the number of pilgrims that opted for the Portuguese Way or the Coastal Portuguese Way increased eightfold from 2006 to 2016.

    Round Table 4 - Galicia Brand. Way of St. James Brand: Road to Fisterra-Muxia

    Of all the products making up Galicia’s range of tourist products, the Way of St. James is the most international one. According to the Pilgrim Office, more than 55% of the pilgrims that visited us in 2016 were from outside Spain (and of these, more than 30% from outside Europe).
