Congress
A space for reflection, analysis, training and open debate, without any rifts, where there is room for everyone with the sole purpose of improving, disseminating and conveying the resulting conclusions to the institutions and organisms involved to some extent in The Way of St. James.
The congress is…
- a space for reflecting on the present and future of the Way of St. James from a global perspective.
- a framework for creating working parties centred on the Way of St. James.
- an area for knowledge and exchange of perspectives regarding the world’s pilgrimage routes.
- a workspace for detecting and solving conflicts affecting the Way of St. James.
- a mouthpiece for researchers, scholars, friends… of the Way of St. James.
- an arena combining tradition and innovation.
- a space for dialogue, experiences and values of the Way of St. James.
- a space for reflection where people and figures can speak to us about life after the Way of St. James.
- a framework for training, knowledge of tendencies, presentation of products and ICTs of interest for companies of the Way of St. James.
- a place where the different administrations can meet in an ideal format for joining efforts.
Four panels will be designed specifically for the congress:
Panel 1: Camino Outsites: Other aspects of the Way
A space featuring expert speakers who will explain more exogenous aspects of the Way of St. James: safety, hospitality, marketing, all of which are of interest to those linked to the Camino: pilgrims, service companies and institutions.
Panel 2: “Life after the Way of St. James.” An emotional route that marks you.
Touching stories of people and figures who will speak to us, in an innovative format inspired by TED, about how the Way of St. James has changed their perspective on life. Highly emotional, moving stories from anonymous or famous people that have enjoyed the experience of the Way of St. James.
Panel 3: The other Routes.
There are many Routes in the World. The Way of St. James’ leadership serves as a space for reflection, in order to explore similar experiences from other routes that are becoming internationally renowned.
A meeting place so that all those involved in the Way of St. James can discuss all matters of interest, with the sole objective of reaching conclusions, establishing corrective measures and raising awareness regarding the importance of the strategy of continuous improvement in managing the Ways of St. James.
Sunday, November 12, when Fairway is free for everyone, will be a different day in which children and families can enjoy different activities such as cake contests, photography, drawing, workshops...
