She is director of the Center for Studies of Romanesque and Territory and Co-Chair of the Scientific Commision of the Romanesque Route.

She is a member of the Executive Directorate of TRANSROMANICA (Cultural Route of the Council of Europe), ICOMOS (International COuncil of Monuments and Sites) and Editorial Board of the News Journal.

She is also the author of several articles on regional development, heritage, culture and tourism; and is a permanent columnist for the online project patrimonio.pt

Presentation: Heritage Management - The case of the Romanesque Route

Heritage management is undoubtedly a pressing and topical issue. The intense emergence of development projects base don heritage and the endogenous resourcesof the territories is the relatively recent result of the formation of a wide range of itineraries, routes and/or structured routes.

The Romanesque Route, which includes 12 municipalities - Amarante, Baião, Castelo de Paiva, Celorico de Basto, Cinfães, Felgueiras, Lousada, Marco de Canaveses, Paços de Ferreira, Paredes, Penafiel y Resende -, has come to represent for the territory of Tâmega e Sousa a great challenge, as a dynamic Project and enhancer of the regional development, taking advantage of an important patrimony constituted by 58 romanesque monuments (monasteries, churches, chapels, memorials, bridges, castles and towers).

The Romanesque Route aims to become a dynamic strategy for the (re)construction of identity, through memory and a new regional economy, mainly in the tourist and cultural área, through the promotion, management and dynamization of its patrimon
