Member of the General Council of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, president of the Regional Tourism Entity of the Center of Portugal and president of the Rgional Agency for the Promotion of External Tourism (ARPT).
Is a coopted member of the DGEIT, of the ESTH/IGP (External Personality invited by the Technical-Scientific Council of the School of Tourism and Hospitality of the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda), and of the DGEI (External personality coopted by members of the Council Department of Economics, Management and Industrial Engineering of the University of Aveiro).
Presentation: The 3 axes of Religious Tourism in the Center of Portugal
Centro Turismo do Portugal has suffered for some time and because of a series of vicissitudes, a lack of "brand". However, in this wide and rich variety, resides one of its most important brands: "Fatima", which in addition to the spiritual and religious aspects it houses, is a strong brand, both nationally and internationally, even becoming "greater" than the Portugal brand.
A platform is currently under construction that identifies roads that are safe, being fundamental to promote them, both nationally and internationally, so that people know the existence of these alternative roads, such as: the Caminho do Tejo that starts in Lisbon, the Caminho do Norte that starts from Valença, the Caminho da Nazaré and the Caminho do Mar that starts from Estoril and Cascais.
The challenge of Turismo Centro Portugal, as well as that of other public and private institutions, is the integrated promotion of the religious product "Fatima", in a coordinated manner with other products, mainly, as an example, with the Historical and Cultural Heritage (monasteries of Batalha and Alcobaça, the Convent of Christ - in Tomar -, and the University of Coimbra, Alta and Sofia), and with Active and Nature Tourism (so well defined in the "Serra da Estrela" brand).
