Fairway proves to be an essential appointment for businesses linked to the Camino de Santiago
Fairway, the great forum of the Camino de Santiago, closes today its third and final day, focused on the professional public and entrepreneurship. The organizers of the event have been very satisfied by the influx of public to the fair, as well as the volume of business carried out. In addition, the winning project of Fairway Invest has been announced, an initiative that was born in this edition of Fairway with the desire to promote entrepreneurship. Gato Studio, a company from A Coruña, has been the one that has managed to get the 5,000 euros prize.
Born in 2010, Gato Studio has presented to the jury a video game that is already in the final phase of development and has as its threads the Celtic culture, the Galician landscape, the Way and the Cathedral. He collected the David Martínez award from Jordi Escruela, deputy director of Post Office Innovation.
A very satisfactory balance
Fairway closes with more than two thousand meetings held in the workshop, more than a hundred exhibitors, more than forty experts participating in the congress and training workshops, in addition to eleven presentations of destinations and products, three intense days in which they have been developed activities focused on the final public and families, institutions, associations, professionals and companies. The development and promotion of Jacobean roads as a tourist engine of one of the greatest examples of sustainable tourism has been the focus of many appointments within the only forum with a fair and congress dedicated exclusively to the Camino de Santiago.
While waiting for the final number of visitors and the business estimate by the professionals, the three co-directors of Fairway highlighted the large number of visitors during the three days and the good functioning of the different sections of the event. In these three days they have received numerous congratulations from exhibitors and companies linked to the Camino.
Manuel Oreiro (Viajes Viloria) influenced the frenetic activity that the workshop has registered, with more than two thousand meetings between Monday and Tuesday. "Both the national and international companies that we have invited, and their interlocutors have shown us their satisfaction for the development of these meetings and for the business opportunities they open up."
On the other hand, Ana García (Trevisani), has highlighted the "consolidation of the professional fair", thanks to the increase of exhibiting surface and the interest aroused by the posts of the territorial destinations and companies. In particular, the stands of hotel equipment are promoting agreements.
Tono Mugico (Mr. Turismo), finally, was pleased by the great reception of the conferences and round tables, "forums to make visible the concerns of all the agents involved in the Way". He also announced that, in the run-up to the next edition, he will bet on two sections that were inaugurated in this edition: Fairway Invest and Fairway Academy, the training program aimed at professionals.
The organizers believe, in conclusion, that this Fairway 2019 has been "the foundation of the settlement" and are already thinking about its fourth edition, which will coincide with the Xacobeo 2021. Precisely, thinking about this important event, they believe that the Forum of the Camino has shown that it has become an essential appointment for the sector that has been evident its strength as "a point of necessary international connection".
International showcase of the Camino de Santiago
In this line, and from Correos, one of the main sponsors of the event, they have valued very positively their passage through this III Forum of the Road: "Fairway has become the international showcase of the Camino de Santiago.
