You can now register for all of the 4th Fairway’s activities, which will be held in Compostela’s Congress Hall from November 7th to 9th. All activities are free, after registering on the website www.fairwaysantiago.com, thereby complying with the health authorities’ recommendations in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and in view of the limited seating available.

The activities include the special Open Day programme that will be held on Sunday, November 7th. On this day, the Fairway opens its doors so that everyone can discover all kinds of destinations, tourist service companies, and other initiatives related to the sector that will be present in the exhibition venue, converted into a tourism fair.

The Open Day’s main feature will be a concert by Xabier Díaz, who will perform as part of a trio. The Coruña musician’s voice will be accompanied by Roberto Grandal on the accordion and Iván Costa on the hurdy-gurdy. The concert, which will begin at 7 pm, will add the finishing touch to a day full of leisure activities, which will make Fairway the ideal place for spending an entertaining Sunday.

Activities for all ages and tastes

Musical performances, gastronomic proposals, dialogues, and leisure activities will make up most of the event’s first-day programme in the Galician Congress and Exhibition Hall. The leisure programme will feature a tour of the last stage of different Camino de Santiago routes by means of the ‘I Camino’ initiative, which will take place from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm.

In view of the excellent response in last year’s event, the Escape Rooms will return to Fairway and will be held in the Congress Hall’s basements. Groups of up to eight persons will have to discover all the secrets hidden among the former belongings of a mysterious pilgrim who arrives at the Congress Hall. The escape rooms will be held simultaneously in two rooms at 10.30 am, 11.30 am, 12.30 pm, 1.30 pm, 4.30 pm, 5.30 pm and 6.30 pm.

For those who prefer to relax, Fairway will present up to three Mindfulness sessions. These workshops will begin at 11 am, 1 pm and 5 pm.

The presentation of O teu camiñar will take place at 1 pm, featuring a showcase presented by the artist Carolina Rubirosa. She is one of Galicia’s most renowned singers and composers, and will present “O teu Camiñar,” the videoclip that accompanies the official song promoting the English Way, with the support of A Coruña Provincial Council.

Cuisine lovers will find the ideal space at Fairway’s Open Day. Gastroway will give us an opportunity to discover the most typical dishes to be found in the different regions through which the Camino de Santiago routes run, with a delicious selection of tapas that can be savoured inside the Congress Hall.

This entire programme will attract both residents and visitors alike, who will find in this event a meeting place for the tourist sector centred on the Camino de Santiago. The organisation highlights the importance of registering beforehand, since all activities have a limited number of participants.

Two days aimed at professionals

In addition to Open Day itself, Monday, November 8th, and Tuesday, November 9th, will feature all types of proposals aimed at the sector’s professionals and persons interested in the world of tourism. The Congress and Academy sections will present more than a dozen debating tables, discussions and workshops, which will bring together more than 50 experts from different fields. The proposals will be held simultaneously and can be attended either in person or via streaming.

As in the previous case, those interested in attending should register beforehand on the website. It is worth remembering that the event is admission free and all activities are free of charge, as long as your fill in beforehand the corresponding registration form available on the website www.fairwaysantiago.com.

At the same time, a large fair will be held with the presence of more than 70 exhibiters from all over the Iberian Peninsula. These will present tourist products centred on the Camino de Santiago routes. Moreover, there will be business meetings between tour operators and service companies and products related to the Camino de Santiago. Some of them will have the opportunity of discovering the Portuguese Camino and the English Camino, thanks to the Fam Trips that will take place next week and will finish on Open Day itself.
