Mari Luz Viñas and "El Reto del Camino"
With the arrival of the new year, w'are working to turn on the engine of Fairway Forum 2016.
For that reasen we also want to help you to remember some of the best moments of last year's Fairway which was the first forum with fair and congress about the Camino de Santiago.
At this first post, we come back in time to Mari Luz Viñas presentation, who was the responsible of open the congress at 2015 Fairway.
Mari Luz is a Dominican woman with a passion, the long distance races. She has a degree in Physical Education and she has been the first and only Dominican woman participating in an ultramarathon into the desert.
But her sport motivations are not limited to competition:
Last year, the athlete decided to confront the biggest challenge of his life, the "El Reto del Camino". Along 15 days (from 27 September to 11 October), she walked over 790km of the Camino de Santiago, stating at St. Jena Pied de Port, which is estimated at an average of 52 km/day, the equivalent to 18 marathons. And all for a good cause: to get funds for a project of the St. Jude Foundation in Dominican Republic.
The road has completely changed the life of Mari Luz: "It's a moment on life where time stops" From the moment that she decided to make the journey, she knew that it will be for helpping someone, and now she expects that its kilometers have served and will serve to help others.
