Turismo de Alentejo
The Alentejo Regional Tourism Promotion Agency, Turismo do Alentejo, is the entity responsible for promoting tourism in the Alentejo in all external markets and providing information to tourists.
Established in 2004, Turismo do Alentejo is a partnership between the public and private sectors, formed by regional public entities and companies in the tourism sector, financed by the latter and by Turismo de Portugal I.P., under a multi-year contract.
Under this contract, the Alentejo Tourism Agency has developed and is implementing the ‘Alentejo External Promotion Plan’, which encompasses the distribution of the Alentejo brand, the promotion of the destination and the promotion of the products and services of tourism companies in the region in the priority markets for this destination.
Since its establishment, the Agency has participated in major tourism events, carried out advertising campaigns for the Alentejo brand, organised educational visits with journalists, prospecting and familiarisation visits with tour operators, workshops and itinerant programmes with companies, identified and promoted new business opportunities, supervised tourism activity in the region, with regard to external markets, and is also responsible for all promotional materials for the destination and companies.
