Mondoñedo, located on the Northern Way to Santiago, has a declared Historic-Artistic Site that brings together one of the main heritage centres in Galicia. The central monument of this site is the Cathedral Basilica of La Asunción, the only one on this Northern Way between Santander and Santiago, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 2015, together with the Northern Way, but with its own entity.
