APACA
APACA’s main purpose is to reduce the suffering of animals at the hands of humans and achieve a fairer coexistence between them. Its scope of action covers the territories through which the different Jacobean routes run in Galicia, so one of its objectives is to make the Camino de Santiago a more ethical and respectful place for animals. To this end, it works to abolish the mistreatment, exploitation, chaining or permanent confinement and abandonment (or semi-abandonment) that abounds along all the routes, but also to end the systematic discrimination suffered by family animals accompanying pilgrims by most of the social and institutional agents of the Way.
